TARGET GRCh38 data

Seven Bridges is committed to providing CAVATICA users with up-to-date versions of the datasets that are available from the NCI Genomic Data Commons (GDC). The currently available version of this dataset corresponds to GDC Data Release 31.

More information about the data in this release can be found in the GDC Data Release Notes.

The Therapeutically Applicable Research to Generate Effective Treatments (TARGET) dataset was generated by a diverse consortium of investigators to facilitate the discovery of genetic changes that underlie the development and progression of childhood cancers for which there currently are limited treatment options. The initiative is jointly managed within the National Cancer Institute (NCI) by the Office of Cancer Genomics (OCG) and the Cancer Therapy Evaluation Program (CTEP) and builds upon the resources of several other high-profile NCI cancer genomics programs, including The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA), the Cancer Genome Characterization Initiative (CGCI), and the Strategic Partnership to Evaluate Cancer Signatures (SPECS). The majority of TARGET project teams are associated with the Children’s Oncology Group (COG), an NCI clinical trials program that focuses exclusively on research into childhood and adolescent cancers.

The TARGET project first consisted of two pilot programs that generated genomic and transcriptomic data from patients with high-risk subtypes of acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) and neuroblastoma (NBL). The dataset has since been expanded to encompass data collected using a variety of sequencing and array-based methods to examine the genomes, transcriptomes, and epigenomes of patients representing subtypes of acute myeloid leukemia, osteosarcoma, and select kidney tumors as well as additional subtypes of ALL and NBL.

For a full list of TARGET data available on the CAVATICA, see the table below. The table details data categories and types, the data format of data subtypes, and the access level of each data type. Note that TARGET contains Open Data and Controlled Data.
